What is the EKV?
It is a federation …
- of associations, fraternities and other organisations of students and scholars, coming from various institutions of higher education or universities,
- whose members represent all genders and ages,
- whose members sustain, endorse and live according to Christian ethics and social doctrine,
- whose members share common values but operate in self-governing structures,
- which aims to contribute to the development and implementation of common European educational and social policies,
- which rejects any kind of violence and disassociates itself from the historical tradition of the student sword fighting.

Wir sind eine Vereinigung…
- von christlichen Studentenverbindungen, Studentenverbänden und Studentenvereinen,
- von Mittelschülern, Fachhochschülern und Hochschülern beiderlei Geschlechts aller Generationen,
- deren Mitglieder sich zum christlichen Glauben bekennen und im Sinne der Christlichen Soziallehre handeln,
- mit gemeinsamen Wertevorstellungen, aber die Autonomie der einzelnen Mitgliedsverbindungen und –verbände wahrt,
- die Bildungs- und Gesellschaftspolitik auf europäischer Ebene mitgestaltet,
- deren Mitglieder das bewaffnete Duell und die Mensur ablehnen.

- für promoting communication between the member organisations, their affiliated associations and interested individual members,
- supporting the efficient exchange of information and personal experiences,
- offering interesting opportunities for continuous education and further training,
- organising seminars and excursions focused on European topics and institutions, especially those dealing with the core interest of EKV and its members,
- supporting partner Christian associations in order to promote and increase understanding and peace in a united Europe,
- encouraging the cooperation of Christian students and scholarly organisations in Europe, especially those operating in new EU-member countries,
- operating as an active partner of the European Institutions to achieve peace as well as the improvement and enforcement of European ideals.

- für Kommunikation zwischen den Mitgliedsorganisationen, deren Verbindungen und interessierten Mitgliedern,
- zum Informationsaustausch und zur Kontaktpflege,
- mit Angeboten zum Bildungsaustausch,
- mit Seminaren und Exkursionen in und über Europa – der inhaltlichen Kernkompetenz des EKV – und Förderung europabezogener Aktivitäten der Mitgliedsorganisationen,
- zur Förderung des christlichen Verbindungswesen und allgemein zur Völkerverständigung im vereinten Europa,
- zum Aufbau und zur Integration christlicher studentischer Organisationen Europas besonders aus den neuen Demokratien,
- das seinen NGO-Status im Europarat im Sinne eines im Frieden vereinten Europas gestaltend nutzt und als aktiver Partner für europäische Institutionen zur Verfügung steht.
